Unified in Advancing the Profession
of Athletic Training in Support of
the U.S. Armed Forces
FROM OUR PRESIDENT

It is an honor to serve as President of the Armed Forces Athletic Trainers’ Society, which works to support Athletic Trainers in the military setting caring for the service members who defend and protect us as citizens. The role of the military Athletic Trainer is unique, varied, and honorable. AFATS continues working to enhance the mission readiness of our warfighters through the profession of athletic training. As professionals, we stand ready to do what is required of us to care for those that sacrifice in our stead. I am excited to lead this organization forward in our continuing efforts to be the force multipliers within warrior health care.
I would like to acknowledge and thank Tim Hansen who served as President of AFATS for the past two years. His leadership and guidance was instrumental to where we are today, and the organization is better for having had him in the lead.
An honored thank you to our sponsors who continue to offer support to our members, and therefore our service members, through their contributions. As a 501 c3 not-for-profit organization, it is because of them that we can fund our scholarships and awards, provide an annual business meeting for our members, and continue to develop new ways in which our members can stand at their professional best.
I look forward to serving in this role for my time, and I encourage our members to reach out with any ideas, suggestions, or thoughts on the best ways that we can stand at our best. Thank you.
