AFATS Awards

AFATS Service Award

The AFATS Service Award honors an individual who has made significant contributions to improving the role of athletic trainers in the military setting.  This individual has demonstrated dedication, loyalty, and service to the profession of athletic training and the Armed Forces Athletic Trainers' Society and its mission.  Nominees must be sponsored by a current member of AFATS.  
2019 Recipient: Denise Fandel, Board of Certification

Terry Dewitt Internship Award

 The Armed Forces Athletic Training Society offers a $500 award to any athletic training student or ATC who accepts a military internship.  This award can be utilized to offset any costs associated with the internship.   AFATS is proud to sponsor this award as well as the education opportunities of our membership.

Mission Statement
The mission of the Armed Forces Athletic Trainers Society shall be to advance, encourage, supplement and improve the profession of Athletic Training by developing the common interests of its membership for the purpose of enhancing the quality of U.S. Armed Forces Health Care.
